The first thing you should do is establish if your server can be pinged. You can do this by going to Command Prompt (Windows) or Terminal (Linux/Mac) and typing ping yourserverip – if the response shows Request Timed Out or something similar, then it’s likely that your server is completely down. You should verify that you aren’t firewalled or experiencing local connectivity issues. This tool will then attempt to connect to your server IP address from many different locations around the world. If the server is definitely down, you will see Packets lost (100%) next to each checkpoint. If this is the case, you can either connect to your server via Console and attempt to resolve the issue. Alternatively, you can issue a reboot. Make sure to wait at least 10 minutes before trying to ping/access your server again.
